Saudi Arabia is prosecuting an air campaign against the Houthis, who reported 54 Saudi raids over Lahj, Taiz, al-Jawf, Marib and Hajjah in the 24 hours to Sept 15 after more than 300 in the preceding five days, while absorbing missile and drone fire that wounded 13 civilians in Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif. Riyadh activated Mecca's emergency warning system for the first time in the war on Sept 15 and, through coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki, vowed to respond firmly, as US officials said the shut East-West pipeline would resume exports within days.
