Acting president Delcy Rodriguez refused on Sept 2 to name an election date, saying a vote will come when Venezuela is ready, while defending the 100-year oil concession signed with Washington as compatible with Venezuelan sovereignty. The government is negotiating with the part of the opposition led by Dinorah Figuera, which Machado is boycotting, and still held 382 political prisoners by Foro Penal's August count.
